Portrait Photography
People have portraits created for many different reasons, new
baby, special occasion, family gatherings or celebration, but everybody wants the same thing... memories.
In years to come your photographs
will recreate a time gone by, and often a time of intense emotion and pleasure. I think emotion is the most important element of any photograph, a successful photograph
must reach out and touch the soul. When I create a photograph, I aim to capture the real personality of the
people before me, both young and old.
Twenty years from now, when you look at the photos I've created
for you, I want them to speak to you, I want the personality of the people within the images to shine, and all
those memories to come flooding back in an instant. I keep the shoot simple and uncluttered, I put people at
ease to bring out their true selves, and I aim to capture something special that will resonate with you
for years to come.
I feel immense pride in being a photographer, I understand
the importance of the task, and appreciate the trust being placed in me. It's often said if people
flee their burning home, the first possession they retreive is the family photo
album, that's how precious memories are.
The photos below are of my son, Danté. They were taken
about half an hour after birth. He was our first child, 26 weeks into the pregnancy there were complications,
and my wife and I thought we'd lost him, but we were lucky. 13 weeks later, and after 3 days of hard labour, my
wife was rushed for an emergency cesarean. As they stitched her up, Danté and I were left alone together, both
feeling somewhat tired and emotional. I remember the unusual combination of feelings, joy and fear, relief and
ecstasy. He was so tiny I was scared to hold him, but once he was in my arms, I didn't want to put him down.
The photos below may bring a smile to your face, but don't really mean much to you. To me, they mean the world.
That's the beauty and power of photography.

Please don't entrust your priceless memories to somebody who
doesn't care, or go for second best to save a couple of pounds. These special moments only come along once, and
pass us by so fast. Even an ordinary day in your life now, will seem very special to your grandchildren in 50 years
time, they won't be able to believe you had so many teeth!
